There is a rumor that floats around about the job duties of a hotel front desk clerk. The rumor is that you get to sit on your butt the majority of your shift. I thought that too, until about a week ago when I took such a job. I'm here to tell you....that is a myth! So far, I've worked 5 days (at 8 hours each shift) and have not sat down, other than the 5-10 interrupted minutes it takes me to eat a quick meal, for any part of it. When I'm not tending to someone at the front counter I am running reports, running something to a guests room, schmoooooooozing with a hotel guest who wants to tell me about their workday, and EVERY other available moment is spent washing and folding bizzillions of sheets, towels, blankets.....and an occasional lost sock. But, really, I am completely enjoying the job. I stay busy, the time flies by, I can see my accomplishment at the end of my day, AND I'm earning Weight Watchers activity points while getting paid! Each shift I get to claim 4 activity points for 1 hour of laundry. The truth is, I do about 4 hours of laundry (or more), but I just put down the points for 1 hour. I have no plans to trade the activity points for food and believe I'll see a great weight drop this Friday at my weigh in. I'm just very thankful to have found a job I enjoy that keeps me busy, keeps my mind off of food, and keeps me active. This is really good for me. For the last 3 days, I've stayed within my points allowance and today I got pretty close to getting all of my daily nutrition in too! For the rest of the week, I'm going to concentrate on upping my water intake and trying to get closer to meeting my daily nutritional goals. I'm right back on track......and feeling regenerated after several weeks of feeling pressed. Now, off to bed I go. I should sleep well knowing I've done good things for myself today. Goodnight!
